The publishing house was founded in 1992 as the editorial office of the monthly newspaper “Vestnik Leib-gvardii”, this newspaper was published in the period 1992−1993, and after a break in 1996−1997, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper was the founder of the publishing house Aleksandr Cherkasov. Since 2003, the publishing house has been publishing an annual collection of scientific papers “History and Historians in the Context of the Time”, and since 2006 — a quarterly journal “Bylye Gody”. In 2010 the monthly multidisciplinary journal “European Researcher” was opened and the Academic Publishing House “Researcher” (Sochi, Russian Federation) was created, and in 2012 two were opened at once: “European Journal of Contemporary Education” and “European Journal of Economic Studies”. In 2013, 8 scientific journals were opened, in 2014 — 20. In 2014, Aleksandr Cherkasov created a research organization — the International Network Center for Fundamental and Applied Research, consisting of two laboratories (Sochi, Russian Federation). By 2016 the publishing house had 51 journals, of which 20 were on natural science problems. In an effort to contribute to the environmental protection, since 2016 the publishing house has refused to print journals on paper in favor of electronic versions. In 2016, the Academic Publishing House “Researcher” was among the TOP 5 publishing houses of the Russian Federation by the number of scientific journals. In 2017, the Academic Publishing House Researcher s.r.o. (Bratislava, Slovakia) was opened in the European Union in the capital of the Slovak Republic, Bratislava, and 50 journals were transferred to the European Union. In 2018 the publishing house occupied the second position among the publishers of scientific periodicals in the Slovak Republic, immediately after the Slovak Academy of Sciences. In 2018, the headquarters of the International Network Center for Fundamental and Applied Research was moved to Washington, the capital of the United States. In January 2021, the number of journals was reduced to 40. In February 2021, the International Network Center for Fundamental and Applied Research changed its name to the Cherkas Global University, and in the summer of 2021 Academic Publishing House Researcher s.r.o. becomes Cherkas Global University Press.
